On May 8th, Endeavor Business Media's Security Group and Buildings & Construction Group launched the first webinar in a four-part series focusing on security, safety, and smart technologies. The session, titled "Emergency Preparedness and Your Building’s Liability," addressed the escalating issue of mass shootings and the changing liabilities businesses face. Led by Sean Ahrens, CPP, Security Market Group Leader at Affiliated Engineers, Inc., the webinar covered strategies for anticipating risks, best practices for evacuation and mustering, and the role of mass notification systems in emergency preparedness. The session offered invaluable insights for security and facilities professionals, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures in mitigating potential threats.

Working as a current security consultant, I have current knowledge regarding current threats, and vulnerabilities for a myriad of building types: parking garages, apartment buildings, warehouses, bars, restaurants, entertainment, office, workplace violence and security technology, operations, and architecture. 

My focus is on premise liability, negligence, wrongful hiring, foreseeability, crime demographic analysis, benchmarking, physical security, and security management.

  • My education: I have a master's in organizational security management from Webster University, graduating with honors–Cum Laude. Before that, I did my bachelor's in criminal justice at Western Illinois University. I continue to obtain certifications that further substantiate my security lineage.
